Highly Anticipated Movies/Series March 2019


For the month of March, everything is new. Netflix is back with some new content, Marvel is releasing first female-led superhero film and new movies are hitting the theatres.


March 1st- The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind

An incredible true story about a 13 year old boy who was thrown out of school because his family couldn’t afford to pay his school fees. He sneaks into the library and learns how to build a windmill to save his village from a famine.


March 8th- After Life

Ricky Gervais plays Tony who has a perfect life before his wife dies.  When his wife dies he decides to punish the world for her death by saying and doing whatever he wants.


March 8th- Captain Marvel

Marvel is finally releasing it’s first ever female-led superhero movie, Captain Marvel is about the Marvel Comics superhero Carol Denvers. The film is set in 1995, the story follows Danvers as she becomes Captain Marvel after the earth is caught in the middle of a galatic conflict between two alien worlds.


March 10- American Gods

After nearly 2 years, American Gods is back with season 2. There have been some big changes to the cast and crew including the departure of the series showrunners and star Gillian Anderson.


March 13th- Triple Frontier

Triple Frontier is about former Special Forces operatives reuniting to plan a heist in a scattered populated multi-border zone of South America. For the first time in their prestigious careers, these unsung heroes undertake this dangerous mission for themselves instead of the country. But when events take an unexpected turn and threaten to spiral out of control, their skills, their loyalties, and their morals are pushed to a breaking point in an epic battle for survival.


March 15- Turn up Charlie

Idris Elba plays Charlie, a struggling DJ and eternal Bachelor. He’s given a final chance at success when takes up the job of being a nanny of a successful friend's daughter Gabby.


March 17- Billions

Billions is back with another season and in this season we see former enemies Bobbie Axelrod, Chuck Rhoades and Wendy Rhoades form an uneasy but highly effective alliance to eradicate all their rivals.


March 22nd- Us

Academy award winner Jordan Peele, writer and director of Get Out is back with another psychological thriller. Us follows the story of a family who returns back to their mother’s beachfront home where she grew up. What was supposed to be a relaxing trip down memory lane soon turns to tension and chaos when a group of strangers, who look exactly like them, arrive.


March 27- Jane the Virgin SEASON 5

Jane the virgin is back but sadly this will be the show’s last season and will bring the series to 100 total episodes. Following the surprise reappearance of Jane’s “dead” husband Michael in the final episode of season 4, this season we’ll be able to find out how he was able to survive.

Netflix have confirmed that their original series about a group of friends living in an inner-city neighbourhood will be back this month. The shows first season ended on a massive cliffhanger and the fans are eager to find out the fate of Ruby and Olivia who were in mortal danger in the season one finale.
